Configure BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool)

The simplest free tool for going live. Works on Windows, macOS and Linux.

The four details you need

All four are in your activation email and inside the control panel. They never change unless you change the password yourself.

Open settings
Click Settings, then the Main tab.

Add a server
Under Server click ADD. Give it a name, e.g. “OneStreaming”.

Choose the type
Pick Icecast or ShoutCast, matching what we gave you.

Fill in the details
Address, port, password and mount point — exactly as in your email. On Icecast the User field is source unless we told you otherwise.

Set the quality
Audio tab: MP3 or AAC encoding and the same bitrate as your plan. Set it higher and the server will refuse the connection.

Connect
Close settings and press Play. The icon turns green and you are on air.

If something goes wrong

It says “connection refused”

Wrong port, or the station is not activated yet.

Connects then drops instantly

Your bitrate is higher than the plan allows.

No sound at all

Wrong input device on the Audio tab.
